I've been trying to do a snowflake pattern by Laura B. and so far mine looks nothing like hers! I tried making it several times then went on to something else. Laura encouraged me to try again and this is what I made. The first pic in blue is using size 10 thread. Not good. I thought that maybe a smaller thread would work so I went down to size 20. When I got to the next to the last ring and chain I saw it wasn't going to lay flat even with the smaller thread so I left off the last ring and chain.
The bottom pic is the snowflake after adding second row to it. I'm waiting for advice from Laura before continuing on.

What a pretty motif! It may not be what you're trying for, but it's very frilly looking, and I like it!
The pink color is pretty. Try to avoid joining in the same spot as the previous round. Join, instead, to the thread between the chains of the previous round, but not ON TOP of. I hope that makes sense.
lol! Thank you Lace Lovin' Librarian. I'm glad to see you here.
Tatting Chic, I do understand what you're saying, but there isn't a chain above that join to go in to. This is the same thing that I was doing with my purple blob, isn't it? I'm still trying to figure out how to send you that pattern so you can better see what I'm doing. I'm not as savvy as some of you are on the computer, but I'll keep trying. Thanks for visiting me!!
Sy, I wanted to thank you for your comment on my blog. It really means a lot to me!
Hugs,
Sherry
You are very welcome. I think you were very brave in doing what you did, baring your soul to all of us, and I was humbled and proud of you, because I have a feeling that you might be one to keep a lot to yourself. Sharing like this is very liberating and so hard to do, so I am very proud of you and am joyous for you that you've taken the steps toward healing instead of despair.
We share a similiar passion. I love making pottery on the wheel, glazing it and just playing around with clay in general, like handbuilding. I've done a little bit of slab work but not enough to know how well I could be at it. I am a Taurus so that puts me under the earth sign, or I think I remember this one right! lol! I think I'm rather "earthy'!!! lol! Anyway, I love the whole process from wet clay on my hands to whatever form my hands take me. I love your shuttles and I hope to someday be able to buy one from you. God Bless and Godspeed, sy
